  • Projection - AP (scapula not retracted) - cannot comment on heart size
  • Inclusion - right costophrenic angle (asterisk) not included
  • Rotation - spinous processes not central (this disguises tracheal deviation to the left!)
  • Inspiration - normal on right (6th rib)
  • Volume - reduced on left - raised hemidiaphragm (red lines)
  • Penetration - adequate


  • Consolidation/mass of left upper zone (C)
  • Soft tissue swelling (ST) - enlarged lymph nodes
