Quality

  • Good penetration and coverage

Findings

  • Very distended (up to 8 cm) gas filled large bowel with loss of haustral folds.
  • It is possible to tell this is large bowel because of its clear anatomical location. The caecum is less visible because it contains fluid. The red line from this point shows the location of distended bowel up to the level of obstruction (*) in the descending colon.

  • The large bowel has returned to its normal size. Normal haustral folding can be seen (arrowheads).
  • A radiologically placed metallic stent has been positioned across the level of the obstructing lesion.
