- Suspected scaphoid injuries often turn out to be fractures of adjacent bones - sometimes not even in the wrist itself
- This patient with 'anatomical snuff box' tenderness has a fracture of the distal radius - only just visible at the edge of the image

- There is also a fracture of the thumb metacarpal base
- As with any fracture you spot, always continue to look for other injuries
